4WLC
stands for 4-Wide LEGO Cars.
They’re tiny LEGO cars that are usually only four studs wide, but people still manage to fit loads of detail into them.The tiny car sceneSmall builds.

The modern 4WLC scene became really popular in Japan around 2012, especially with builders making JDM cars, drift cars, stance builds, kei cars and other cool modified cars.
There are even proper 4WLC car shows in Japan with hundreds of LEGO cars, prizes and drag racing.

Because there is hardly any space, builders use techniques that move details sideways, upside down or by half a stud.
01SNOT building+
Studs Not On Top. Pieces face sideways so builders can create smoother shapes and tiny details.
02Half-stud offsets+
Moving a section by half a stud helps a bonnet, roof or bumper land in exactly the right place.
03Clips and bars+
Small clips and bars can become mirrors, exhausts, lights or strong sideways connections.
04Upside-down building+
Flipping pieces reveals different curves and connection points that work better for the shape.
05Minifigure parts+
Hands, tools and accessories can become surprisingly convincing car details.
06Wheel tricks+
Clever mounting creates camber, lowered suspension and wider stances in very little space.

I like 4WLC because you can build loads of different cars without using a massive amount of LEGO, and it is a challenge trying to make a real car look right at such a tiny scale.
It still isn’t very well known in the UK, so if you haven’t heard of it before, now you have!
